President Trump endorses House Farm Bill
Cramer: President understands importance of bill to state and nation
Bismarck, N.D. – In a statement released by the Executive Office of the President, Office of Management and Budget, the administration has come out in support of the U.S. House version of the Farm Bill.

The statement went on to express appreciation for the House Agriculture Committee’s work to “pass a farm bill in a manner that provides certainty to our nation’s farmers, ranchers, and foresters and enacts common-sense work requirements as part of the overall requirements for eligibility for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.”

“North Dakota ag producers deserve the long-term stability provided by this Farm Bill,” said Rep. Kevin Cramer and candidate for U.S. Senate. “My deep thanks go to the President for this support that clearly demonstrates his understanding of how critical agriculture is to the economy of our state and to the food security of this nation.”

The House Farm Bill continues the critical safety net established in the last Farm Bill while adding several features advanced by Rep. Cramer including his fix to the Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) commodity support program and his introduction of minimal effects standards in Swampbuster.

The U.S. House is expected to vote on the Farm Bill later this month.
